Template:Vehicle Infobox The M290 Mongoose, often called the Mothergoose, is a newer model of the M274 Mongoose all-terrain vehicle.[1]
Specifications
Design details
It is larger and has more armor than the older M274, in addition to featuring a rear-facing seat for passengers.[1] Both the civilian and military versions are available with a variety of upgrade packages, including armored body panels, improved suspension systems, and alternate engines. The civilian version is not rated to carry Spartans without risking damage to the frame.[2]

Variants
M290-M Gungoose
The M290-M Gungoose is the result of an M290 Mongoose quad bike fitted with twin grenade launchers.[3]
Corp Gungoose
Up-armored variant used by Liang Dortmund security forces to combat Insurrectionists that features extra armor.[3]
Urban Gungoose
Variant used by UNSC Army scouts, UNSC Air Force security patrols, and Spartan recon teams. Features better armor than the Corp variant.[3]
ONI Gungoose
Variant used by ONI that features better armor than the Urban variant and grenades with timed fuses that allow them to ricochet. The passenger is also granted an increased supply of M9 fragmentation grenades.[3]
Trivia
The Gungoose was originally called the Wargoose during Halo 5: Guardians' development.[4][3]
