A Covenant assault carrier's pinch fusion reactor

Pinch fusion reactors are fusion reactors that serve as the primary source of power on board Covenant warships.[1] They use tritium as fuel and are much more advanced than UNSC fusion reactors. If their cooling systems are disabled or their maximum heat loads are exceeded, they can often fail explosively.

Small pinch fusion reactors are used to power the Covenant's Type-38 "Tyrant" anti-air cannons.
