Kusunagi is a Japanese name and the name of a Japanese train line suggesting the character may be a Human of Japanese heritage or it could possibly be a play on words of the name Kusanagi, being a wikipedia:Kusanagilegendary sword in japan, or alternately, a play on words of the fictional character, Motoko Kusanagi. It could also be a Sangheili character, due to their similarities in their culture to Bushido.
