Talk:Rate

Image[edit]
So, the two unknown rates. I have a feeling that the short one is a miner and the four armed guy is a builder. The second arms might not even have to be part of his body, could be ancilla controlled to assist with projects. They are also the only two rates missing and the Quad-Arm armor and color scheme is similar to the Master Builder. ProphetofTruth (talk) 03:17, 17 January 2014 (EST)
- After looking at the image I agree the 4-armed one does look similar to Faber's, and could be a builder. But until some sort of confirmation, it's only conjecture. Col. Snipes450 09:53, 17 January 2014 (EST)
Engineer rate and Huragok?[edit]
As far as I can tell, there is no mention of the "plasma jockey" Engineers and the Huragok known to humans as "Engineers" being the same thing in Halo: Cryptum. In fact, it actually implies that every Forerunner rate is comprised of genetically modified Forerunners, and the Huragok are known as specifically being artificial constructs with a semi-organic form created by the Forerunners. I'm pulling the "main article" link to Huragok.--File:PENGUIN4.gif|15px]]FluffyEmoPenguin(ice quack!) 14:27, 9 September 2014 (EDT)
- See this. In addition to the fact the supposed non-Huragok Engineer rate is never described outside of a singular mention in Cryptum (which would lack any context if it wasn't referring to Huragok), Greg Bear has confirmed the Engineers are meant to be synonymous with the Huragok. See this talk page for a further dissemination of the relationship between the Engineers, Huragok, stellar engineers, plasma jockeys, and Miners. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 15:18, 9 September 2014 (EDT)
