Fanon vs. Fan Fiction[edit]

Thanks for cleaning up Forerunner-Flood War, but, in your edit summary, you said you had "removed fanon," but you had actually "removed fan fiction." See halofanon:Forum:Site Name for an explanation on the difference. Thanks again for helping out! =D Guesty-Persony-Thingy 04:14, 22 January 2008 (UTC)

Arbiter[edit]

Sorry about that edit summary, I hit Enter accidentally. I have re-read the story several times to be sure of this, and although not directly called an Arbiter, it's pretty obvious given the Elite's description. - File:Black Mesa.jpg|28 Halo-343 (Talk) (Contribs) (Edits) 17:52, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

I took it as a special operations Elite. The rank of Arbiter is one of crisis, I don't see why they would have coninuously appointed them the entire course of the war. ProphetofTruth 18:25, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

I know, it doesn't make sense. But the description points towards Arbiter. Specops Elites are just Elites with normal armour, only black. Baird's description stated he had never seen the armour before and it looked important. - File:Black Mesa.jpg|28 Halo-343 (Talk) (Contribs) (Edits) 18:33, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

Most low grade marines could probably go an entire military career without seeing a special operations elite, based on the stealth ships that attacked the Heart, it was probably a special operations commander of some sort. Halo 2 had the widest range of elite ranks, but lacked the game mechanics to have overly impressive ornate armor. I think saying Arbiter is taking the description to far. ProphetofTruth 20:21, January 16, 2010 (UTC)

I agree with Prophet. I just read the story last night and really, saying it's a specific armor without more description is guessing. Additionally, there are probably armor types WE still haven't seen (i.e. in Headhunters). User:ApolloisNaughty
