"Unclean" being[edit]

In Halo Wars, on of the timeline events shows the Covenant referring to humanity as the unclean beings, not the flood. However, this was in 2524, a year before first contact with the Covenant, so which is the unclean being? Humanity or Flood? Neither sound right in the situation, but i've (personally) never heard the Covenant call the Flood "unclean". I personally think it's humans, but idk how it'd fit in with the dates. The entry also refers to a massive quarantine and sterilisation effort to rid Kig-Yar vessels of other creatures like it. I doubt humanity is that virulent! I would say the Kig-Yar accidentally picked up an unwelcome passenger during a stop-over on an unknown world. --CoH|Councillor]] SpecopsUserWiki:Specops306|306]] - Qur'a 'Morhek 09:51, 5 March 2009 (UTC)
Although this event happened before the invasion of Harvest, it was stated that the Covenant had known about humanity for some time before, because they had already learned the English language. Another timeline event in 2524 speaks of Elite and Grunt teams being assembled to study the "Unclean"'s language. As the Flood don't really have a language, it's safe to say "Unclean" is a Covenant term for Humans. Jackal pirates had been raiding human ships before either the UNSC or the Covenant knew about each other, one of them probably came back with a dead Human on board and, upon finding a new alien species, the Hierachs demanded the ships be sterilized until more could be found out about the being's biology. --Lord Beckett 03:15, 7 March 2009 (UTC)
