Not His Family[edit]
I really hate that Kelly's book did this. "Stealing" the pelican to escape a doomed ship was justifiable survival, but making the holorecorder stolen as well - when the game heavily implies that it's his family - reduces Esparza (the only Hispanic major character, to note) nothing but a thief. Is there any precedence to note that it's a contradiction between the game and the book, rather than just flat-out treating this one singular non-addition (because it really does add nothing) as Hard Canon?--The Kilted Heathen (talk) 12:59, August 26, 2026 (UTC)
- Halopedia exists to archive the series as it is published, regardless of anyone's personal feelings of the quality of the content. See also, our Canon Policy. We do not remove content simply because it is disliked. BaconShelf (talk) 13:05, August 26, 2026 (UTC)
- I had just assumed that after stealing the Pelican, the holo disk was simply found aboard and being there for 6 months in that tiny room, it was the only consolation he had at hand that likely left him sane. I wouldn't think he deliberately stole the disk and took it on board the Pelican. The Pelican might have been being prepped at ready status when the Banished attack began and the original pilot's belongings were simply on board when Espazra absconded with the dropship.ScaleMaster117 (talk) 16:15, August 26, 2026 (UTC)
