A Fire Team is a United Nations Space Command organizational unit for ground infantry forces, like the Marines or the Orbital Drop Shock Troopers. They generally consist of four or fewer soldiers, althogh they are known to work as seven (i.e. Fireteam Charlie-on Halo and are grouped into squads.
The concept of the Fire Team is based on the need for tactical flexibility in infantry operations. One fire team is capable of autonomous operations even when grouped into a larger unit.
