The Proving Grounds is a multiplayer map in Halo Wars 2. The map is exclusively playable in the Blitz gametype, and was included in the second beta of the game.[1] This map is also used for Blitz Firefight.
There are two visual variations of The Proving Grounds, Scirocco and Nocturne. Both change the visual look and feel of the map, but do not change the layout.
Overview[edit]
The Proving Grounds is set on Installation 00 and is largely symmetrical. Each side of the map has a team base, and the centre is dominated by three control points A, B and C. The regions between the points are covered in hills and impassable terrain, though a ridge line separating B and C allows artillery to fire upon both points.
In Blitz Firefight, enemies spawn from the base at the top of the map, while players occupy the bottom.
Variants[edit]
With the May 2017 title update, multiplayer update, two new visual themes were added for the map. These include Scirocco, a desert/tropical-themed take on the map, and Nocturne; set at night. Players have a random chance of playing on any of the three variations of The Proving Grounds in the Blitz PVP and Blitz Firefight playlists.[2]
