The Forerunners left various machinery on the planet. Raas Kkotskha was originally settled in [[870 BCE]] at least by the [[Sangheili#Silver Timeline|Sangheili]]. They would end up building temple complexes to honor the Forerunners.{{Ref/Reuse|makingof}}

An attempt to make some of the Forerunner machinery work would result in the planet being abandoned.{{Ref/Reuse|makingof}}

Originally, [[Sanghelios]] was intended to be the planet seen in the episode ''Transcendence''. However, as this would have created production issues. Instead the planet Raas Kkhotskha was chosen from [[343 Industries]] lore documentation. The details on the world were sparse though it was described as a Forerunner "lighthouse" on their [[slipspace]] network.{{Ref/Book|Id=makingof156|[[The Making of Halo The Series: Hope, Heroism, Humanity]]|Page=156}}
