From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

Request: Spirit-of-HALO

I figured out the rollback rights by HaloDude and CommanderTony just recently. I wanted it because recently a couple of pages have been completely vandalized and couldn't do a thing about it (because the whole pages were practically deleted). And also I would like to better Halopedia from, you know, the vandalizes that come here and messes up stuff. Even though I'm just a User, I think I need to learn a lot more about Halopedia. Thank-you and have a nice day.File:PO3.jpg|20px]] Spirit-of-HALO

Request: Mjl91

I recently heard about Rollback rights from one of the Admins. I have experienced vandalism before and realise how frustrating it must be for a site like this to be constantly under the pressure of vandalism by people who have nothing better to do. I hope that if given rollback rights I will be able to by my small contribution decrease the amount of vandalism on this site. This site is the expert on everything Halo-related, and to reduce vandalism here would be a great honour.

Thank you, Mjl91

I've been here since early February '07 and was a member of the now deleted Anti-Vandal Coalition. I have the edits required. I've helped take down quite a bit of vandals, mostly forwarding info to the admins. I also helped take down the vandal Uncivilgoth666 by forwarding information. (such warnings are evident in my contributes). However, my reverting of vandalism is quite bare, due to the time between forwarding of the info, and going to undo it it had already been done. I helped take down a lot of vandals, but I suppose that wouldn't count without "reverting" of vandalism. Might as well try. Grievous797

Request 2: Spirit-of-HALO

I have failed on my recent request for rollback not to long ago and was wondering if I can give it a try once more. Since the time I've asked, I think Ive gotten use to, well, at least trying to revert edits or just unneeded edits made by users or banned users. During that time, its beed hard trying to "manualy" revert edits. I have also gave feed back to other Administrators about vandalism on articles or other such subjects. Thank-you for your time.

Request: Subtank

Dear Administration Team,

Request for Rollback.

I've been here since early September '07 and started off by making corrections on grammar and spelling. I have the edits required, approximately over 1400 in total (1000+ of Main Page Edits) as I write this request. I've contributed by making several articles to the wiki as well as fixing the articles' quality. I've helped take down very few vandals, (In general those who spammed articles and created multiple account, otherwise known as sock-puppeting). Having rollback rights would greatly assist me in combating vandals as well as helping me in repairing broken articles.

Thank you for your time and have a nice day/night.H-107 Subtle Tank 17:47, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Request: Stigma-231

I have been among the dedicated members of Halopedia for over three months now. In those three months, I've worked hard to try and make Halopedia a better place in my own way; especially reverting bad edits. I've had to make do with the normal tools provided to the average editor, and although I have figured out how to revert multiple edits by a user, the process is very slow and inefficient. I believe, if I had rollback, I could be faster and more effective in fighting vandalism. As I always have, I only ask for this in hopes of improving Halopedia and all of its articles. If it helps any, I have gone through my contributions and pulled out 13 of my reverts and compiled them in a list, which can be found here. I have the differences included, as well as the previous editor' special contributions, in most occasions. I know I have the required number of edits; the editcount doesn't lie. If there are any questions or concerns or anything, feel free to ask me; I will be happy to comply if it helps solidify my chances of getting rollback. I sincerely thank you for your time, the administration team of Halopedia, and I eagerly await a response. -Stigma-231File:1213513093 Halo2emblem.ashxv2.jpg|16px]]·†i used to rule the world†·[Talk][Work] 02:30, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

Request 3: Spirit-of-HALO

I have made over 2,000 edits to Halopedia and contributed in many ways, helping users, and restoring back edits that have been "impassible" or unacceptable. During my last 2 request, I have failed to pass, but, now I'm ready. I have seen a few articles that have been completely deleted such as Halo 3 where I contacted an Administrator to restore it back, as for me, it would taken a lot to restore back "manually", another page Maria-062 was also deleted and did the same as I did last time, Ive also corrected vandalism on the Halo 3 skull "I Would Have Been Your Daddy" by deleting the "added numbers" to confuse the users. I also increased my time in editing to fight and take out vandalism, such as restoring back information or "Tool boxes" that have been taken out. I've been efficient enough to contribute a lot, but a little slow when I don't have roll back rights, I ask permission to have the rights to better Halopedia. Thank-you for your time.

Look, I may not have the 1000 edits required (rather 760 at the time of typing this), but I do fall into the other category of being an admin on another wiki. I'm an admin at Gruntipedia and also an admin at the dead Bomberman Wiki, even though that's currently ran by a sadistic admin whom of which I have no control over. Anyway, back to the topic: I want rollback rights because I spend most of my IRC time in #cvn-wikia-halo. I check it every 20 minutes when I'm on the computer, and scout out vandalism. When I go to revert said vandalism, I have to use the undo button, which is extremely slow and can be edit conflicted. Maybe if I had rollback I wouldn't need to worry about the whole taking too long or edit conflict things. Regards, --Kwarshinator-(contact)-(contribs)-(edit count) 11:56, 18 June 2008 (UTC)

I have recently got a 1000 edits award to remind me I have a thousand edits since I have join Halopedia about 8 months ago. The last couple of months I wanted to make this request, but I do not have a 1000 edits yet as a requirement. Some of my edits were to revert Spam-edits or unwanted pages, but however considering the fact that Edit Conflicts are inevitable, this cleanup jobs are most of the time rather annoying. So if I had a Rollback Right, it would make my job easier. Thanks!

Well, I have 952 total edits, with 677 being mainspace edits. I've also reverted plenty of vandalism, either through "Undo" or forwarding to Admins such as SpecOps306. I'm reasonably accustomed with Rollback, as it is extremely similar to "undo" (which I've used in abundance to remove incorrect information, spam, or downright vandalism). For example, I've reverted many of Waffles the Hunter's edits. While they are not "vandalism", many are unwanted edits. I have also helped take down the vandal Pisaman, who also created different socks, such as Pisaman2.

Some examples of reverting vandalism:

Some twat placed "breasts" in the page

placing the word "condom"

placing "Breasts"

Pisaman2's replacing with "Breasts"

Of course, there are more scattered throughout my contributions, but I feel these suffice. Cheers.

i have been here since May. I currently hold the rank of Major which I earned by actually fixing pages. When I first learned of these hackers my anger rose. They were basically cheating their way into the top 50 users list. Then about in Mid-June I learned about rollback rights. I asked many Users such as User:EwCDnaudee419, User:Spirit-of-HALO, and User:ImperatorExercitus. I have only manuallly undone 50 or so vandalizing or unneeded edits, but I have warned many new users about point whoring and how it is bad for Halopedia. I haven't been here for all that long, only about 2 months, since around July 15th. I've been active everyday, fighting grammar mistakes, spelling mistakes, and above all, vandalism. Now, I haven't seen much of the latter, for I barely ever go to the more "popular" articles. But from what I've seen of it, it is terrible. I know that I have enough total edits, but I don't know if I have enough experience. If I am denied, I shall take it graciously and work harder than ever to ensure that Halopedia is safe from vandals. After I get more experience fighting vandalism, I shall return. If I am approved, I shall also work harder to counter vandalism and ensure that everyone has a better time on Halopedia!

Well, I did try and help as much as I could when the John-117 page was assailed. But that didn't go over too well, so I just told a bunch of admins that it was being vandalized, and they fixed it pretty fast. Also, a while ago, someone was vandalizing a page and I kept trying to fix it. It eventually caught others' attention, however, and they eliminated the foul vandal. And the Dadab (or was it the Yayap?) page was under some assault a while ago but I fixed it. I really am, bad at remembering things, and I am a very truthful person. If I see vandalism I will be able to stop it very easily. And I do scout the site a lot for it, I just hardly ever see it. But if I had rollback, I would be able to counter vandalism a lot more easily! Look at Devout Atheist; he admitted to not having much vandalism-fighting experience, but CT granted him rollback. It seems you may be singling me out for some reason... Kougermasters 16:11, 14 November 2008 (UTC)
Rollback is a tool used to fight vandalism. It is not a status symbol. It is given to those who are already active in fighting vandalism. I don't give rollback to anyone who comes here and starts out with "I haven't seen much vandalism here," I don't give rollback to users who don't understand that anyone can revert vandalism, and I would not have given rollback to Devout Atheist. — Manticore [ AdminIRCHOTMBot ] 07:19, 15 November 2008 (UTC)
I gave Devout Atheist Rollback status solely because I see he contributes a lot to Halopedia, and that his edits are of good quality. Hang on a minute, Manticore. You wouldn't have given Devout Atheist Rollback? So that means that if CT answered Kouger's request before you, Kouger would have Rollback? No offense, but that isn't fair. I understand your reason, and I'm not complaining much about that, since I can't change it anyway, but this sounds like Atheist got rollback just because he was lucky enough to be approved by CT. That's just not fair. Admins should give rollback in the exact same manner. You and CT, as I noticed, give out rollback quite differently. I'm not an admin, and yet I have knowledge about that. I do believe I deserve it a lot more than others who have been given it, and that I have fallen under the category of CT not liking me much, and Manticore being very strict. It seems unfair, but I suppose they have their reasons. I guess I shall have to do more anti-vandalism work, and get more experience. Though Nicmavr, I'm not trying to snub you or anything, but the only reason you get Rollback is because you founded the Greek Halopedia. Correct me if I'm wrong. Oh, and as a reply to my reply to Nicmavr, I have checked the archives, and quite a number of point-whores and vandals have been given rollback. The leadership at Halopedia seems to have something against me. Even Dragonclaws and Subtank are ignoring me, while simon rjh just seems to dislike me. But that's okay. I'm used to people working against me. And I'm used to things going wrong.Kougermasters 01:45, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

Yes kougermasters, Manticore gave me rollback, because of my admin status at the Greek halopedia. But I did not request the Greek halopedia because I wanted rollback. The request for rollback came to me sort of later on. I founded the Greek halopedia because CT asked me to do so. I agree that Manticore can be quite strict, certainly stricter than CT, but I wouldn't say they hate you. I know they would have good reasons to deny you rollback. My advice to you is to just do some more anti-vandal work, enough to satisfy them. Nicmavr Mah hard work All mah editsYou got somthin' to say to meh? 07:28, 22 November 2008 (UTC)

I’d like to request rollback status. I've been on halopedia just over 9 months now, and I recently went over the 1000 edits line, with about 1000 of my 1200 edits being mainspace edits, earned from anti-vandal work i've been doing recently, as well as fixing up pages, and protecting a lot of the Cole Protocol article's, many of which I made. I’ve come across many vandals and 'point whores', many of which i’ve been unable to do anything about, so I've reported them instead. Request 3: Kougermasters

Since my last, failed request, I have reported a little more vandalism. What CommanderTony said about Devout Atheist who admitted at the start that he "has little experience with reverting vandalism", about DA having great edits and being happy to give DA rollback, I believe that since I have more experience with vandalism than I did last time (I recently (about 2 or 3 weeks ago) found out about the "revert" button) that I think I may deserve rollback this time. I am also an admin on the Greek Halopedia, where I am on the lookout for vandals, and have had time to test my powers. I am also an admin on the John Ringo Wiki.

I have the sufficient amount of edits (1756, 1,041 main (though my editcount is messed up right now)), and I have no record of point-whoring or vandalizing ever since I joined Halopedia on July 15 (16?) 2008, nearly half a year ago. With my new experience as an admin, and with my great edits to articles such as Scarab and AI, I think I deserve rollback rights, in order to preserve Halopedia's magnificent articles on the wonderful Halo Universe. If you deny me, I will scout for vandalism harder than ever before, and if you accept me, thank you, I will use my new rollback powers wisely and responsibly. Kougermasters, in my opinion, is good when it comes to reporting vandals, point-whores, etc. I understand that he/she hasn't done much anti-vandal work, but even I myself, haven't seen as much vandalism lately. This time, I will support kouger, but the final decision is up to you, Manticore... Nicmavr Mah hard work All mah editsYou got somthin' to say to meh? 15:27, 30 November 2008 (UTC)

(sigh) This is hopeless... I should just give up... and maybe wait until Manticore either retires from being an admin and/or leaves Halopedia, because however long he and I are both here, he will never give me rollback. *sigh again* Nicmavr, why are you sticking up for me again? I wouldn't want your reputation and/or standings on Halopedia be damaged because of me. Many less capable users than I have been awarded rollback for foolish reasons such as friends of admins and because they asked nicely. Some users that have been presented with rollback rights have even turned out to be vandals and point whores in the end... I would have thought at least my clear history would have mattered... If I don't fulfill the requirements of rollback, I will simply work harder. But, as Nicmavr says, "even I myself haven't seen as much vandalism lately." Which means there is no hope for me. (I seem to have doomed myself with this long, depressing paragraph filled with pathetic self-pity and self-loathing.) Cheers... --Lieutenant Commander Kougermasters 02:47, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
As I said earlier, rollback is a tool granted to those active in fighting vandalism. It is not, as you clearly perceive it, a status symbol. Keep the drama on your MySpace and off this page. — Manticore [ AdminIRCHOTMBot ] 09:57, 1 December 2008 (UTC)
I'm not perceiving it as a status symbol, Manticore. All I'm saying is that kougermasters should be given a chance with it. You gave rollback to me didn't you, because I was an admin on the Greek halopedia. Kouger also has that status.

To kougermasters: There is no need to think so negatively about Manticore. Also, when I said that I haven't seen much vandalism lately, I meant the ips. I've checked hundreds of ip addresses this week, yet none of those have been vandals. Seems that there aren't many vandals in my timezone, but... I have no idea. But it's not hopeless for you. Just do more, more and more anti-vandal work. Sooner or later, you will be awarded rollback. And no worries, I doubt this will damage my reputation and/or standards. Anyways, I will let you and Manticore discuss it further (if needed).

I won't say anymore here... Nicmavr Mah hard work All mah editsYou got somthin' to say to meh? 12:27, 1 December 2008 (UTC)

Request: Amamraskar

Sir, I know I don't even remotely have 1000 edits but I do have 335 edits. And I have fought vandalism so I am requesting rollback. ammaraskar File:Seal(3).gif|24px]] Talk to me| Edit Count 13:58, 11 December 2008 (UTC)
