==Background==
"Tango" was stationed aboard the {{UNSCShip|Pillar of Autumn}} in [[2552]]. Following its arrival at [[Installation 04]] and the ensuing [[Battle Over Installation 04|space battle]], [[Covenant]] boarders would breach the ''Autumn''. Tango was sent alongside other combat teams, including [[Combat Team X-Ray|X-Ray]], to port decks five and six. Eventually, Captain [[Jacob Keyes]] would initiate a general evacuation of the ship, ordering combat teams [[Combat Team Alpha|Alpha]] through [[Combat Team November|November]] to evacuate. [[Combat Team Sierra]] through [[Combat Team Victor]] evacuated after them.{{Ref/Reuse|poa}}

Combat Team Tango's fate upon [[Landing on Installation 04]] is unknown, though it is likely that any survivors were part of the [[battalion]] led by Major [[Antonio Silva]] later in the conflict. By the time of the destruction of the ringworld three days later, Combat Team Tango (along with all other local UNSC and Covenant forces) was killed.

Another unit designated as Combat Team Tango were amongst the survivors at [[Lifeworker Central]] in [[2560#June|June 2560]]. Commander [[Wes Thompson]] assigned them along with combat teams [[Combat Team Mike|Mike]] and [[Combat Team Lima|Lima]] to help [[John-117]] by detonating explosives buried in the nearby jungle to draw off [[Banished]] forces.{{Ref/Novel|Id=EOD21|EOD|Chapter=21}}
