The VZG7 Armoured Boots are standard issue equipment for UNSC Marines. They were most likely developed at the end of the year 2552, as they aren't shown Halo: Combat Evolved. You can see them in boxes through out the Halo 2 multiplayer maps Tombstone three times and Foundation two times.
