Timeline of my Experience With Halo

2012

Jul

circa Jul 1

• I played Halo Reach for the first time at my cousin's house. I vividly remember flying around New Alexandria for the first time. At some point in the medical building my cousin remarked that I was good at killing, but I had no sense of direction.

2013

Feb

Feb 20

• I got an Xbox 360 for my birthday. The first two games I got were Halo 3: ODST and Halo 4. I played through the first mission of Halo 4, then I decided to play through ODST before continuing with 4.

• I got Halo Wars.

• I made my first forge creation: a sky city on Forge World with a hole in the middle. At first glance it looks like there's two ways around the center, but one of those ways is a bridge with an insta-kill barrier. This kill barrier had no purpose other than pissing people off. The map also had an open-air weapon and armor ability shop, a vehicle store, some kind of police station with a gauss hog, and some other buildings around the place.

• I made another map on Forge World which featured two bases: My base was a large one, made from coliseum walls. It had sniper towers and a central walkway to get to a helipad area. My friend made a more low lying base by the waterfall. A system of floating man cannons made it possible to get from his base to mine.

• I got Halo 3. I didn't have Xbox live at the time, so I mostly played campaign and split screen multiplayer.

2014

• A friend and I jokingly created a religion in which the creator of the universe is an invisible, black dog called Canem. This eventually became the basis of all my online username.

• I started watching Red vs. Blue.
• I got Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary.
• I started drawing in a bunch of sketchbooks, many of the pictures I drew were Halo related.
• I got to max rank in Reach, however this was on an offline account which is unconnected to my current account.
• By this point I'd technically beaten every fps Halo game I owned on legendary, however I cheated on Halo 4 by starting at the last rally point of each mission.

2015

• The first episode of Red vs Blue season 13 came out. It was the first season I watched while caught up on the series.

• I made the Bullfrog jump on the mission Exodus with just a hammer, some grenades, and an ammo crate.

• My Xbox 360 fell off the flimsy folding table holding it up. It started having problems overheating. This problem got worse over time until it became completely unusable by the end of the decade.

• I finally reached tech level 212 at 2 am, after 10 hours of sitting outside the enemy AI's base with cobras.

• My legendary campaign progress in Halo Infinite got overwritten somehow, forcing me to start over after reaching 95% completion. I was about to enter the Nexus with everything finished except for two UNSC datapads and the bandana skull.

• I started a LASO run of Halo Infinite.

• I watched the seventh episode of Halo: The Television Series. I was as bored with Kwan's storyline as I am with her flat character. It's like teen angst is her only setting.

May 12

• I watched the eighth episode of Halo: The Television Series. It was my least favorite episode of the season. If you're going to give John of love interest, at least have it be because they have chemistry and not because they're both chosen ones or whatever.

• I watched the nineth episode of Halo: The Television Series. I did not like the season as a whole. Every change they made just made it feel more like any generic low quality sci fi show.
