As the Spartans made their way through the hangars and hallways shooting their way through. When the spartans were running getting closer to their objective he was ordered by the fleetmaster to detatched  the corridor so that the Spartans would be stranded in space. As soon as the magnetic field that stopped them from entering slipspace him and the fleetmaster escaped

The Package

He was aboard a Covenant Assault Carrier after they retrieved a cryo-chamber containing Dr. Catherine Halsey. The ship was infiltrated while it was trapped in a magnetic disturbance by a group of Spartans led by Master Chief. As the Spartan team approached their target he was ordered to detach sections of the ship, and ultimately split the vessel in half, in an effort to stop them. As the backend of the carrier was scuttled, the magentic field cleared and the foreward half transitioned to slip-space.
