Team Saber is part of Gamma Company was a squad of SPARTAN-IIIs introduced in the Halo novel Halo: Ghosts of Onyx. These SPARTANs wore the cheap regulation SPI-(Semi-Powered Infiltration) Armor. They graduated the SPARTAN training program at age 12 on February 20, 2551 (Military calender), on Onyx. They then started on the Top Honors program against Team Gladius and Team Katana.

Ghosts of Onyx
During the training the squad was attacked by what sounded like artillery fire. After retreating to the fence near Zone 67 they came across the Onyx Sentinels.
The team joined Blue Team in their mission to retrieve the Forerunner technology rumored to be buried below the crust of Onyx.
