Support Weapons are a new class of weapons in Halo 3 While carrying them, your view switches to third person Gears of War-esque style and you walk slower. Also, You cannot throw grenades or melee. You are generally more powerful, but also much more vulnerable and much less versatile, just to balance the game out.
