Strong, Silent Type

Strong, Silent Type is an achievement in Halo: The Master Chief Collection. This achievement is obtained by assassinating three Brutes in a row on the Halo 3: ODST campaign level Data Hive.

Players can enable campaign scoring to verify that the three Brutes were killed by a melee from behind by obtaining a Beat Down medal after each kill.

There are two Brutes led by a Chieftain outside the Superintendent’s data center. Since the two Brute Minors (or Major/Ultra on higher difficulties) would be firing their weapons at the door, the player can easily assassinate one. The second Brute Minor would likely enter a surprised animation, which could be exploited for a second melee from behind. If the Brute did not enter the surprised animation, get close to trigger a melee animation and spin around to melee his back. Wait for the Chieftain to initiate a leap attack, strafe left, and kill him with a melee from behind.

Alternatively, kill the Chieftain first with a melee from behind, then get close to one of the two Minors to bait out melee animations then spin around for melees from behind. This strategy may be riskier because the player is susceptible to gunfire from the third Brute while approaching the second Brute.

There is another alternative, however, the requirement is the player must obtain all the audio logs from the Mombasa Streets before entering Data Hive. Using NMPD officers as a bait to make sure the Brutes are focusing on the NMPD Officer, then the player can take this chance to melee a Brute from behind.

Trivia[edit]

The name alludes to Dutch calling Jonathan Doherty a "strong, silent type" in the Halo 3: ODST campaign level Prepare To Drop.
