Soma, also known as Soma the Painter, was a Forerunner civilian who resided on Seaward around 97,745 BCE. She was one of the first to witness the landfall of the Flood on the planet.[1]

Biography[edit]

Soma was an inhabitant of Wharftown, a small settlement on the planet Seaward. She had moved to the planet out of a desire to live away from her people's high-tech society, and eschewed the use of personal body armor in favor of a naturalistic lifestyle. She enjoyed painting with a jetbrush. When the Flood arrived on the planet, her jetbrush pictured it making landfall.

This event marked the first Flood invasion since the human-Forerunner wars. Soma imaged it while painting the setting of Seaward's two suns. Her jetbrush, along with two other devices in the settlement, was used to provide information about the sighting to the Auditor and Prelate via an automated reporting system.[1]
