Sealant foam,[1] or self-sealing foam,[2] is a reactive material designed by humans to instantly seal breaches between a pressurized space and a vacuum.[1]

Usage

It is used between the double hulls of space stations such as Tiara to fill small hull breaches made by micrometeorites or other space-borne debris.[3] The foam is also used in compartmentalized vacuum suits to protect the wearer from breaches.[1] Thruster pack fuel lines are also equipped with sealant foam to prevent decompressions.[2] The foam is yellow in color, and often stored in barrels.[3]
