Pinch fusion reactors are fusion reactors that serve as the primary source of power on board Covenant warships. They are much more advanced than UNSC fusion reactors, and use tritium to generate plasma that is heated by pinched magnetic fields.[1] If their cooling systems are disabled or their maximum heat loads are exceeded, they can often fail explosively.[2]
Small pinch fusion reactors are used to power the Covenant's Type-38 "Tyrant" anti-air cannons.
