The Battle of Ariel was an engagement on the Human colony of Ariel during the Human-Covenant War. It was fought between the United Nations Space Command and the Covenant Empire[1][2].
Trivia
This is likely a reference to the television series Firefly, as three of the actors from that show voiced Marines in Halo 3 and voice three of the main characters for ODST. Ariel was the name of one of the planets in the show.
