[[Serina]], having begun the early stages of [[rampancy]], failed to take full measures and instead locked the resultant [[flood combat form]] in the cryo-bay for study. After three days of study and observation, Serina witnessed the infected enter the [[Flood carrier form|carrier stage]] and spawn more infectors. Able to absorb a host's knowledge, the Flood utilized the engineer's knowledge of [[cryo chamber]] codes to awaken and infect more crew members.
