Jones is a Spartan-IV supersoldier stationed aboard UNSC Infinity and a member of Fireteam Bailey.[1]
Biography[edit]
Battle of Ealen IV[edit]

Jones was assigned to Fireteam Bailey, along with Hong, Dunn, and Paul DeMarco. In March of 2558, they and Fireteam Jackknife were assigned to provide security for Fleet Admiral Terrence Hood and Kaidon Thel 'Vadam on a diplomatic mission to Ealen IV. While Commander Sarah Palmer and Fireteam Jackknife accompanied the delegates, Jones and the rest of Bailey stayed back to act as overwatch. As Hood and 'Vadam were negotiating with the Jiralhanae Chieftain Lydus, Covenant mercenaries led by Shipmaster Vata 'Gajat broke into the chamber and attacked the delegates. Despite facing heavy resistance from Covenant forces, Fireteam Bailey managed to clear a path for the delegates and escort them to a nearby parts depot.[2]

After the battle, DeMarco's sacrifice was commemorated at a memorial service aboard Infinity. A personal energy sword that belonged to DeMarco had been left in Jones' possession. Some time later, Jones lost the weapon in a poker game against Spartan Tedra Grant.[5]

Spartans Dunn and Jones are possibly an homage to the Bungie employees David Dunn and Jason Jones.
