John Weiland was a human who listened to Benjamin Giraud's Hunt the Truth audio journal in 2558. After Giraud's entries challenged the UNSC's account about the Master Chief's origins, Weiland sent Giraud an audio email where he said he was impressed by Giraud's actions, even if he thought challenging ONI was a horrible idea. He urged Giraud to continue Hunt the Truth and finish the investigation he had started.[2]
