Iron Fist was the callsign of a Pelican dropship pilot deployed to evacuate SPARTAN Beta-Red team from combat against two Covenant divisions during the Fall of Reach on August 30, 2552.[1] On approach to Orbital Defense Generator Facility Alpha 331, Iron Fist advised Gamma 1 and Gamma 5 - commanded by First Lieutenants Jake Chapman and Buckman, respectively - to move to an evacuation point fifty kilometers west of their position.[2] As he neared the facility, Iron Fist's Pelican nearly collided with one of three Covenant cruisers that had emerged from cloud cover above the battlefield, desperately making a last-ditch attempt to evacuate Beta-Red. Whether this attempt was successful is unknown.[3]
