3 further slots available

Attention, candidates! Feel free to add yourself to the bottom of the growing list. Then, put a dash next to your name, and add your highest level and in what category.

See below for how to get in. =D

How To Get In

There are six slots, and three openings left. This is how it works to get in.

Tonight, at 4:00 PM Eastern Time (otherwise 1:00 PM Western Time), there will be the first challenge match. Whoever wants may join. The moderator's gamertag is Relentless70. Send him a friend request, and then join the game.

It will be a total FFA game on Lockout, Ivory Tower, or Ascension. However, the moderator, Relentless70, will only be observing. If anyone kills him, he/her will immediately be disqualified. Okay?

The winners will be considered for entrance into the team, but remember, there will be more challenge matches, as probability states that the more samples, the greater chance of an accurate reading. Even the losers of the first match, if they do well in the subsequent and as-of-now unannounced matches, will be considered into entrance into El Team. Actually, there's a 37.5% chance fo making it, so feel warm and fuzzy...there's hope you can play with one of the gods that rule Bungie! =D

Message RR at his talk page for further details! =D ;D Hope to see ya at 4:00, or whatever time it's for you!

Godspeed,

Individually not very powerful, but great when integrated into a team. Helps to contribute to a team's overall tactical strategy a lot.
Shotgun
Very tactical and skilled. Gives some leadership to other team mates to coordinate strategy.
Sniper
Skilled in team matches, excellent in FFA, although doesn't coordinate strategy in team games. Very innovative, however, in personal strategy, utilizing turret to provide suppressive fire, and using a variety of novel weapons techniques.
Sword, Battle Rifle
Good with the sniper, although hesitant to engage in rough-'n-tumble fighting.
Sniper
Skilled in both FFA and team matches, although doesn't coordinate strategy, like Gzalzi.
Battle Rifle, Grenades
Good in fire support in team games, has a grip on tactics

Recorded by RelentlessRecusant

Introduction

"Hmm...so Dragonclaws has finally found the position of the right trigger."
— Relentless70

See this game in detail on Bungie.net

Orange Team:

Relentless70 (RelentlessRecusant) - The counter-tactical branz
star wars fan94 (Darth Tater) - The gun-totin' sidekick

Red Team:

JIMMY806 (J!MMY8806) - The tactical branz
Quetsalcoatl (Dragonclaws) - Uhh...where's my motion sensor?!

Overall tone of the game: Blue >> Red.

Overview

Red Assault No. 1

It was defense for Blue Team, theoretically. However, an observer viewing Red Team's assault dogmatically would realize why Blue Team called it offense, and Red Team called it "I don't wanna die!!!". At the eve of the game, Relentless armed himself with the ever-useful Brute Plasma Rifle (BPR) + SMG dual combo, and Tater laid a hand on the Battle Rifle conveniently closely related to the Scarab. On the other side, Jimmy took the sniper and Dragonclaws took the Brute Shot, and was still calculating how to hit the right trigger when Tater peppered him with BR shots from the noob combo alley in between the warehouse and the Scarab.

Expecting a flurry of four HE grenades, Tater immediately leapt outta the way as Dragonclaws loosened a single high shot, inflicting no damage on the surprised members of Blue Team, and then himself ran away. He didn't run far, just planting himself in the main street halfway between the Warthog and the warehouse, ready with his Brute Shot and waiting for Blue Team to bring it on. Tater swept in down low on the road while Relentless took the top cover. Guns + Dragonclaws = dead admin. Jimmy, who was lurking around nearby, arrived too late to save his buddy-bud, and was subsequently gunned down.

Relentless used his clairvoyant telepathy, realized that if Blue Team kept hanging out 'round the main road, that Red Team would descend on the flag and possibly score. They arrived at the Scarab just a moment before Blue Team charged with SMGs. Jimmy was picked off immediately, but Dragonclaws managed to get within the Scarab's territory, strafing left and right with his SMG versus Tater right next to the flag. When Relentless came in, Dragonclaws was outta a job, and an astonished Tater realized that the admin had actually taken down his shields!

The round then ended. 0 - 0

Blue Assault No. 1

"We'll make this painless". Those cliche words could've aptly described Blue Team's first crack at Red's flag. Red Team chose the front door as the insertion point: dipping near the warehouse, passing by the plasma pistol in the alley, and diving in straight towards the Scarab by way of the BR corner. The bombing run was EZ.

Dragonclaws ran forward, as if a Flood form expecting a shottie to the face. Actually, it waz just Relentless with the snipa and Tater with an SMG. One body shot from the sniper lowered the shields and Tater mopped up the rest with an SMG salvo. However, there was one last opponent: Jimmy. As the two Blue Team soldiers moved towards the Scarab, Relentless mentally remarked that Jimmy liked long-range weapons, realized the BR at the BR corner was gone, and spied a bit of Red near the Scarab. Double-teamed, Jimmy fell, and Tater took the flag while Relentless relieved Jimmy of his Battle Rifle.

Relentless took his time examining the fine graphics, leaving Tater to pass unescorted from the Scarab to make a beeline for the warehouse, intersecting the noob combo valley, and then turning towards the destination point through the dismal alley adjacent to the warehouse. Then, Relentless realized there waz a threat: Jimmy! His solution to all problems were to either shoot 'em up or blow 'em up, and Relentless aptly dispatched Jimmy and his SMG near the ammo stash and metal box near the pathway from the Brute Shot to the Scarab, and then realized that his tactical mind was lacking data on Dragonclaw's location. He pivoted to find the administrator shadowing Tater, waiting to ambush him as he exited the alley to return the flag home.

He was actually a 'lil late, and Tater had already come under fire before Relentless ended the brief skirmish with a Battle Rifle bashing, allowing Tater free rein to score. 1 - 0, Blue Team.

Red Assault No. 2

For awhile, Relentless and Tater had been thinking to dismiss Dragonclaws as an administrator b/c of his (lack of) Halo 2 skills. Their solitude in knowing their assessment was shattered by Red Team's astonishing strike. Relentless issued an edict at the start for Tater to grab the PBR/SMG combo and for himself to take the BR. After they were armed and Jimmy had gotten the sniper at the far end of the map, Blue Team was emerging into the noob combo valley, intent on taking the bull by the horns, when Jimmy appeared, fired off a single sniper round at Relentless, lowering his shields and sending him yelping for help. Blue Team reluctantly retreated to the safety of the BR corner, just to have Dragonclaws, that crafty kid, to flank 'em!

Relentless shamefully died. That's right. Relentless DIED to Dragonclaws, leaving him murmuring about the possibility of slitting his own wrists in shame. Pinned behind the BR corner, with Jimmy coming from the box route and Dragonclaws from the alley behind him, Tater was driven away, going stealth protocols while Relentless screamed at Tater to prevent him from taking the flag while the respawn timer ticked down for him.

Jimmy then took the flag. Bad move. R-e-a-l-l-y bad move, as Dragonclaws, even emboldened by his first kill, couldn't take on Tater's PBR/SMG combo with a single SMG. As Red Team, confident in their escape, ran for the side street, that is, towards the general direction of the medical tent instead of the warehouse, Tater emerged like Athena with Zeus's head from his hiding spot, slew Dragonclaws, and then killing Jimmy, who was hoppin' in the air with the flag, hoping that he'd actually get somewhere before dying under the onslaught of the plasma beams and SMG rounds.

The round soon ended: 1 - 0, Blue Team, despite the close shave near the end.

Blue Assault No. 2

Relentless had been planning for weeks on how to execute this. He'd grab the sniper which Jimmy had wielded so effectively last round, come up the main entrance, while Tater would get the shottie near the 'Hog, and then Tater would come in from the medical tent (near the box, not the noob combo back alley way) while Relentless would give covering fire from the diagonals with his sniper. Tater would attract fire, pull back, and a Red Team trooper would chase him, and then recieve a sniper round in the head.

However, Tater's zeal made him ignore the unfailing advice of Relentless...ehh...well...kinda unfailing. Quasifailing. Semifailing, as Tater jumped right in. No tactics this time. He shot up both Jimmy and Dragonclaws while Relentless struggled to draw a bead on Red Team from the ammo cache box.

Red Assault No. 3
Blue Assault No. 3

3 - 0, Blue Team wins
