Gray Team is the designation for a mysterious team of three Spartan-IIs of the UNSC Naval Special Warfare Group.

Background

Gray Team is the Spartan team that's noted to be "on battlefields too distant to be easily recalled" when the Spartans received the new MJOLNIR Mark V armor [1]. The team was later identified to have been "on a mission far outside the confines of UNSC space, now missing for over a year" [2].

Members

As of now, the names of the 3 members of Gray Team have not been revealed.

Trivia

  • The Spartans' mission, location, and ultimate fate will be detailed in the new Halo novel, "Halo: The Cole Protocol", which will be written by Tobias S. Buckell, author of "Crystal Rain" and "Ragamuffin".
  • There are three Spartans on Gray Team, as shown in Halo: Fall of Reach, when Dr. Halsey says that "all of you are here, save three who are engaged on fields of combat too distant to be easily recalled."
  • As seen on the official cover art of "The Cole Protocol", it seems that Gray Team still wears the outdated MJOLNIR Mark IV combat armor, despite (apparently) possessing at least one BR55 Battle Rifle.
  • The Battle Rifle could possibly be an MA5K Carbine.
