Eric S. Nylund (born November 12, 1964) is an American novelist and professional technical writer who has contributed extensively to the Halo universe. He is noted in particular for his three Halo novels, beginning with Halo: The Fall of Reach, the first book in the series. Nylund started his writing career in 1995 and worked at Microsoft for 14 years, until his resignation in July 2013.[1] He worked as Director of Narrative Design for Amazon Game Studios until resigning in 2015.[2]

Cole in the book Halo: Evolutions - Essential Tales of the Halo Universe and helped write Catherine Halsey's journal and classified documents included in the Limited and Legendary editions of Halo: Reach.[6]

As of June 2016, Nylund has no plans of writing another Halo novel.[7]
