As Sangheili warships destroyed Suraka's long-ranged communications and slipspace-capable ships, Aru worked alongside General Kapoor to organize the city's forces in order to respond to the attack.[2] Later stationed in the command bunker below the Wulandari Building, he worked with Ellis, Lamar Edwards, General Grace, and General Kapoor to formulate responses to the threat posed by the Voice of Maardoth and later the Sharquoi controlled by Hekabe, as well as addressing the civilian refugee crisis.[1] He was instrumental in the preparation and execution of Operation: BUZZHAWK.[3][4]
