The 23rd Naval Air Squadron is a squadron comprised of pilots from the UNSC Navy and the UNSC Marine Corps.[1]

Background

Several members of this unit, if not the entire unit, were aboard the UNSC Pillar of Autumn in August 2552. Members of the squadron were adept at piloting several types of air vehicles, including D77-TC Pelicans, GA-TL1 Longsword-class interceptors, and even captured Covenant Spirit-class dropships. When the Pillar of Autumn crashed on the surface of Installation 04, some of the pilots survived, though all of them were later killed. It is unknown if any members of the squadron were assigned elsewhere or if the squadron is still in service.
