Saal was a Sangheili (Elite) with the rank of Zealot. He was a member of Thel 'Vadamee's group who attacked UNSC ships at Charybdis IX during a Battle of Charybdis IX. The group was later ordered, personally by the High Prophet of Regret, to find the Kig-yar rebels that were trading Covenant weapons to Humans. Thel orders him to brand himself with the mark of disobedience after disobeying his orders.[1]
