The AA helmet somewhat resembles the CQB helmet except for a larger visor and the absence of the chin guard. It also resembles the helmet that the ODSTs wear in Halo 2.<ref>[http://xbox360.ign.com/dor/objects/14276699/halo-reach/videos/halor_armory_montage_072210.html| ''IGN.com'' - ''Halo: Reach'' Armory montage]</ref>

Two upgrades are available for the helmet, the first adds an Up-Armor plate with a Command Network Module on the right side (UA/CNM), and the second adds an Up-Armor plate with a Command Network Module-Improved on the right side (incorrectly called FC-I) (FC-I, should be UA/CNM-I). It is unknown what FC-I stands for, but it is the term used when a CNM-I and HUL are equipped together, which is never actually seen in the armory.
