Bandersnatch is a United Nations Space Command emergency code to be declared following a radiological- or energy-based disaster.[1] This code has been used many times, most often when a human colony world has been glassed by Covenant naval forces.
Use
Bandersnatch was declared following the nuclear bombing by UNSC forces to destroy the rebellion on Far Isle in 2492.[2]. Cortana later declared Bandersnatch, in addition to code Hydra, on November 3, 2552 due to the attempted activation of Installation 05, and the Flood infection which had consumed significant portions of the ring and the Covenant holy city, High Charity.[1]
Trivia
The word "bandersnatch" comes from the famous poem Jabberwocky.[3]
