User talk:CIA391/Manufacturers in Halo Infinite

From Halopedia, the Halo wiki

So I came across the article on my dive into "hmm what do all these manufacturers do" and well it is if we can be honest, a bit lacking which makes sense as it is not a direct page but rather just one under your user. So I would like to contribute some knowledge I got at hand from looking and stuff.

Canon manufacturers:

AMG Transport Dynamics is a wheeled vehicle manufacturer that are the producers of the M12 Warthog, M12R Rockethog, M290 Mongoose, M290-M Gungoose, Shuksan and Pilchuck bumpers and performance wheeles attachments (all for M12, M12R and M15 Razorback). A note could be how it might be inspired by the real life AMG, Mercedes's performance division.

Aves, not much to note here as the details of it is in short precise, but can now also feature the EXO helmet, Rak-60 shoulderpads and Springer harness chestplate from Haloween 2 releases.

Beweglichkeitsrüstungsysteme, which translates to mobile armor systems in german, can be said to focus on armor designed for more mobility focused operations and jobs, notable helmets they are known for could for example be Mk 7's Brawler and Mk 5's CQB and CQC helmets and CQC shoulder pads.

Cascade Stronghold Technologies, or as I will call them here for ease of writing CST, seems from my looking to have a major focus on armor related to and used by ODSTs as they are behind all obst helmets, including Orcus which was made as a precursor to the odst helmet, and related other armor parts like odst chest and fj knees on mk 5, sadly not manufacturer of the odst chest (UA/Sacrifice) for rakshasa.

Chalybs Defense Solutions (CDS) can be classed as a conglomorate of both armor, weapon and vehicle tech, known for a lot of up armor attachments for different helmets, helmets such as the Mk 5 Pilot and Operator, and Mirage IIC Neith helmets as well as the Hydra micro missile launcher. Oh and also forgot when writing this they also make the Scorpion tank

Emerson Tactical Systems (ETS) is mostly focused on producing attachments for Mjolnir armor focused on their "black-box technology" and the Mk50 Sidekic, seems that these attachments also fall under a light armor classification.

Hannibal Weapon Systems (HWS) while primarily a weapons manufacturer during the time of Infinite (and 4-5) they have also focused on Mjolnir armor production which in what I can find seems to have a focus on integrated systems for communication and or control of larger wepaons systems, as well as being one half of the collaboration that created the Cyclops, the other half being Materials Group. They're known for the Deadeye, Aviator and Skymarcher helmets for example

Imbrium Machine Complex (IMC) is focused on protective/hazmat gear for spartans and also unaugmented personell, known for the Hazmat core and a lot of the helmets and attachments for it as well as some Mark 7 helmets that are built to be more protective against non direct damage

Jotun while primarly in lore a agricultural and heavy industry/labor machine company they have produced some helmets primarly for the Hazmat core, Oberon, Ashmaw and Farkas to be specific as well as some hazmat core shoulderpads.

Korolev Heavy Industries (KHI) seems to focus on heavy protective gear as their helmets are often heavily armored or made for specific roles (like the Rampart being the EOD helmet of mark 7), as well as three helmets for Hazmat that bare resemblance to classic gasmasks of our time (some with a striking resemblance to soviet/russian or eastern european variations), the Notus, Skarbing and Temfor. As well as being the employers of the Korolev Grizzlies team. The bear imagery might be a telling sign of their siberian/eastern heritage and or locale.

Lethbridge Industrial is focused on gravitic control systems which they have managed to scale down for use with mjolnir armor and several reduncdency systems too as the description for the rakshasa core says (and they make a few of the rakshasa helmets), as well as looking like having some integrated ai systems as well into the armor. Helmets such as War Master, Rakshasa, Rasetsu are by them as well as Drapsmann gloves (which is translated to murderer in Norwegian (yay representation, I say as a norwegian)).

Lux Voluspa, nothing to add as they have no or just not significant armor parts or cosmetics conected to them outside the mentioned ones.

Materials Group is the largest producer of armor for the UNSC and is the group behind all the Cores (except fractures and Hazmat) in infinite as well as tons of attachments and helmets and etc. They are directly a subsidiary of ONI's Section Three.

Meyer e.v (might also be german due to the name Meyer stemming from germany or the other middle european nations with germanic languages) seems to be a small one and behind a large set of Target Acquisition System (TAS) attachments for helmets of varied make and model

Misriah Armory, maybe the most well known manufacturer, behind most of the UNSCs weapons like the MA40 and the BR75, as well as armor parts such as the Gungnir helmet.

Naphtali Contractor Corporation (NCC) not much is known outside of having created helmets inspired by the Air Assault helmet (Volant and ISR9 and the rakshasa core helmet Morrigan inspired by brute stalkers (saying brute cus typing the actual species name is hard and I felt too lazy to copy)

New Tyne Armory (NTA) seems to be behind some armor used by human banished forces (infractor set) as well as generic ua for lone wolf units (kard plate) and special ocation armor (Soverign set)

Ohana, outside of manufacturing the holographic sight for the Evo variant of the DMR they have no other significant apperance in Infinite and thus I have no more to add outside putting the Evo Holopoint in the known for section.

Optican are producers of Medgel and other medical supplies, and only armor attachments they have made are the Medaux thigh attachments and Mr. Bones chest attachments for mark 7.

RKD is a think tank known for the Shinobi and linebreaker helmet as well as the ZVEZDA set, seemingly focus on integrating stealth tech into armor.

Sevine is another venezian based manufacturer like New tyne and are the group behind the M392 Bandit (which explains the covvie lettering on the cheekrest to mark out the firemodes) and produce armor often related to ro based/inspired by many of the alien races like the Grunts, Jackals/Skirmishers and Elites. And produce both for unsc and banished as the yhave no direct allegiance.

SinoViet Heavy Machinery is a south-east/central asian (based off their name being combination of china and vietnam) producer of heavy machinery as well as helmets for Osteo/Hazmat core such as the Ogun and Voidspear, as well as other armor parts like the Packtrat rig and m2497 pouches for mark 7, which specialize for light-medium armor and ammo carrying

No addition to Sydney and Teotl as I am as clueless as you on these.

Ushuaia Armory are the people directly behind the mark 5 air assault helmet and as they also made the Marine's helmets they could also be said to make the Trooper helmet (XM77 by 343) for mark 7

Vakara GMBH is an arms manufacturer known for the VK78 commando rifle, and some armor parts maybe haven't seen one yet.

Vestol are the ones behind Rouge and Viper helmets, seeming to specialize in stealth focused armor and unlike others (more similar to Sev or NTA) are private and not bound to unsc whims

Watershed Division, this is where I wanted to comment the most as the info is wrong. Watershed is a secret R&D division of ONI/UNSC where employees from the biggest MIOs come to collaborate on specialized armors and other materials for the UNSC (behind most of the Osiris team and blue team armor sets amongst other secrative parts). They are based off of the real life USAF Skunkworks division where folks from Lockheed Martin and other manufacturers like Boeing work on stuff for secret missions (SR-71 black bird and U-2 spy plane to name the most known) and the reason for the name is so that if any details leak it cannot be linked back to directly one or the other.

Others:

Unsc, Banished and Flood all seem to be correct in the way that it's either collab work between the MIOs or modified by individuals that ends up shared or flood infected (duh)

Non(?)-canon

343 holds some of the less canon and more silly armor bits but can be divided into 343 irl and 343 in universe, where the latter makes canon stuff that are less militaristic in design and use and more cosmetic based and the funny stuff is 343 irl just making something for a special occation (pumpkin head for halloween)

Fotus is the ones mostly producing very specific armor parts or attachments that carry references to other halo lore and characters (the yellow roses and teddy bear being a reference to Rose from Legends)

Fractures:

Firewall: can be classed as canon in sims but also canon for Created forces

Entrenched: An alternate history where the MIOs were civillian industries pulled into war production due to an early alien invasion, heavily styled after World War aesthetics with helmets calling back to helmets used by the forces in the world wars (stahlhelm, broadie and doughboy and the other late ww1/ww2 helmet that m199x is based on) as well as general steampunk aesthetics with the Sky Marshal (a reference to The Rocketeer) and Leadbelcher helmets

Tenrai: an alternate universe where Japan (and asia) was the dominant leaders in tech and aesthetics making armors based off of samurais and other dynastic warriors.
