The Redoubt was a Kig-yar keep. It was found on the planet Metisette, in the 23 Librae system, and was made out of parts of old ruined ships, and could house hundreds of thousands of Unggoy. It was built by Reth, and has a large river of liquid Methane that runs into a large crater. There are giant reactors around the crater, which heat it and turn the liquid into gas, making thick mist which are perfect conditions for Unggoy to live in. It also serves as a breeding ground for the Unggoy. It is also surrounded by lots of Covenant buildings.

History
During the Battle of Metisette, ODST's and two SPARTAN's from Gray Team landed in the Plaza via SOEIV's, not far from the river of liquid methane. They destroyed all the Anti-Aircraft guns in the plaza, then planted a SHIVA Nuclear Warhead, before being picked up by Pelican Dropship's and taken to UNSC Midsummer Night. The nuclear blast didn't destroy The Redoubt, however, it was finished off by The Rubbles long range Mass Drivers. Reth, the leader of the Kig-yar forces, was killed by one of the Mass Driver rounds, when it hit into the main control room.
Creation
Built under the supervision of Reth, it housed a large river of liquid methane that ran into an artificial crater lake. Turbines used the river to generate energy for the compound, and giant reactors converted liquid methane into vapor around the crater,  creating perfect conditions for the hundreds of thousands of Unggoy who inhabited the Redoubt.

Battle of Metisette
During the Battle of Metisette, ODSTs and two Spartan-IIs from Gray Team landed in the Redoubt's central "Plaza" via SOEIV, not far from the river. They proceeded to neutralize Covenant anti-aircraft presence in the Plaza, then planted a Shiva-class nuclear missile in a sensor control building before being extracted by Pelican dropship to the Midsummer Night. The destruction of the sensor control structure blinded Covenant forces in the Redoubt, allowing it to be destroyed by several of the Rubble's asteroid habitats. Reth, the leader of the Kig-Yar forces, was killed by one of the asteroids when it collided with the ship he was attempting to escape in.
