Talk:List of deleted ambient life in Halo development

Merging all of deleted content[edit]

As the franchise ages and expands, we will eventually find out there are tons of deleted content. It is bound to happen. Issue for the wiki is that to have individual articles for these deleted content made sense back when the franchise was small (well... somewhat in '07), but it doesn't look like that's a good move anymore.

So, I'm proposing that we create a list of deleted content. As always, there will be exceptions for deleted content that has a wealth of information that is sufficient enough to allow it to have its own article (i.e. Drinol). This list on deleted ambient life is first of many. I was also planning on proposing a list for deleted vehicles and deleted weapons but I reckon that it would be best to start with this list first.— subtank 06:41, 23 May 2014 (EDT)

As long as appropriate attention is paid to the extent of the content of each article - i.e. something like arctic ice hound and a lot of the articles that comprise a couple of sentences can easily be listed on one page, while squirrel is already broader in scope: the deleted "Space Squirrel" is only a subset of its content. There's also a concern of the list becoming untidy and confusing with sub-galleries and other possible subsections some of the longer entries may require. Finally, what is the actual, practical benefit of having them all in one place as opposed to individual pages? There's no overlap of content to speak of and in practical terms the merge mostly just means the entries won't show up in the search field. --Jugus (Talk | Contribs) 08:33, 23 May 2014 (EDT)
The realistic outcome would be similar to what we've made to Titan. Content will be arranged appropriately to the titles they were meant to appear, i.e. arctic ice hound in Halo Wars, the Squirrel in Halo: Reach.— subtank 19:21, 25 May 2014 (EDT)
So, any objections before I merge the content? Anyone wanting further clarification? — subtank 14:16, 2 June 2014 (EDT)
