::Or possibly math. If you know two points on a map (Installation 04 and 05), you can calculate the range that those installations would have. Assuming their ranges cover the entire galaxy and are relatively equal, you can get a rough map of where every other installation is. :::Assuming, of course, that they were positioned into a particular shape (eg. a circle) around the galaxy. Based on the ranges, it would appear that they would overlap when firing - if we knew how much they overlapped (and, assuming that Installation 04 and 05 are close to each other and not separated by several others) then we'd be able to calculate approximate positions based on available data. At least, that's how I'd work it out.-- Forerunner 09:56, 27 October 2011 (EDT)

::::There's also the fact that UNSC forces have had unusual access to two major Forerunner installations - Installation 04A, and the Ark. Cortana's time in Alpha Halo's system uncovered a lot of information that the player or reader didn't get to see, and the UNSC can't have just been hunting for Truth while on the Ark - while the Chief was off bringing Scarabs down and massacring Brutes, I imagine ONI infiltrating whatever they could, scavenging together anything they could use. I know that the Halo installations were compartmentalised, so I doubt the UNSC would have found coordinates for other installations on Alpha Halo, but the Ark was the central unit in the Halo Array. -- Specops306 Autocrat Qur'a 'Morhek 20:39, 27 October 2011 (EDT)

::::::Also, if they are in a circle, they're also most likely in order, so it seems 03, 04, and 05 are the closest to us. Alex T Snow 05:33, 17 November 2011 (EST)
