==Overview==
The surface-to-air missile launchers in UNSC service are large multiple-launch-system emplacements, firing missiles at enemy aircraft. There are two major known variants of launcher, with broadly similar designs;
===War-era launcher===
This SAM launcher used by [[human]]ity during the [[Battle for Earth]]. It can load three [[Advanced Short-Range Ground-to-Air Missile 10X|ASR-GAM 10X]] missiles for firing, with racks of four additional ASRGAM 10Xs often seen accompanying it. Multiple of these kinds of launcher were used by the [[Office of Naval Intelligence]] to defend their [[Oasis (map)|black site]] surrounding the site of a recovered dormant [[Lifeworker terraforming vessel]]. ==Production notes==
For High Ground, Bungie had tried to have the SAM site AI-controlled, so that when players are charging up the map, there would be a risk of being killed by the launcher.
