John-117 (born 2511) is a human Master Chief Petty Officer in the UNSC Navy and an augmented member of the SPARTAN-II Program. John has commanded the operational Spartan units during the Insurrection since 2525 and throughout the majority of the Human-Covenant War and the Great Schism.
