Michaels was a UNSC Marine and an Orbital Drop Shock Trooper in the 105th ODST Division. He served during the Battle of Ariel in 2552.[1]

Biography[edit]

Before the deployment to Ariel, he and Romeo were drinking and discussing the Spartans and their skills. He agreed with Romeo that anyone, if given the same equipment as Spartans, could do the things they did.[1]

On Ariel, he and Higgins found the body of Charles and he informed Master Sergeant Frost that it appeared the man died from fright. Shortly afterward, the troopers split into pairs. He stayed with Sergeant Frost, and they separated from Dutch and Romeo who entered the generator complex.[2]

Later, after the generator explosion, he retreated with Frost, although he wanted to stay and search for Romeo and Dutch. After realizing that, along with Higgins and Campbell, they may have lost up to four men, he broke down in front of the rest of the platoon and was rebuked by Frost. After regaining his cool, he continued with the rest of the platoon to the other dig site, to look for civilians.

Unbeknown to Michaels and the rest of the ODSTs, the Covenant were preparing to attack them while on their way to the settlement. Fortunately to them, Dutch and Romeo lured the Covenant away, eliminating a large group of their ground forces in the process.[3] Once the ODSTs reached the settlement, they learned that Romeo and Dutch were alive, and were currently exploring the underground complex below the settlement. Meanwhile, more Covenant were on their way to their position. However, after Romeo and Dutch had the Forerunner AI, the Knowing, self-destruct, the Covenant lost interest in the planet and left without even bothering to finish off the humans.[4]

Trivia[edit]

  • Michaels wears a differently-colored ODST suit. It is light gray-and-red-colored CQB variant of the ODST Armor. It includes a red visor.[2]
