The Mark V[B] was manufactured by private organizations contracted by the [[United Nations Space Command|UNSC]] rather than developed by the [[Materials Group]] as was typical for most other Mjolnir designs. The development of Mark V[B] was conducted in secret, with its prototypes tested by [[SPARTAN-III program|Spartan-III]] personnel.{{Ref/Reuse|Id=EVG}} The physical architecture of two later MJOLNIR variants, the GEN1 [[MJOLNIR Powered Assault Armor/Mark VII|Mark VII]] prototype and the GEN2 [[DECIMATOR-class Mjolnir]], closely resembled the design of Mark V[B].
