By [[2552#September|September 22, 2552]], Lovik was a senior member of [[Second squad (Pillar of Autumn)|second squad]]. On this date, the squad was [[Outbreak at the Containment Facility|deployed]] to a [[Flood containment facility]] on [[Installation 04]] at the behest of Captain [[Jacob Keyes]]. Lovik was left in charge of second squad while [[Fire Team Charlie]] headed into the facility, with second squad ordered to cover the [[fireteam]]'s retreat. Second squad was ultimately ambushed by the [[Flood]], with Lovik attempting to make a desperate last transmission to Fire Team Charlie before his death and presumed [[Flood combat form|conversion]].{{Ref/Reuse|343GS}}{{Ref/Reuse|HTFC6}}
