On the next day, while Fireteam Intrepid made their way to a trio of Kywasky Workshop Gorespike cannons the Banished had set up south of the Silent Auditorium, they picked up a distress call from Lucas Browning, one of the survivors from the trapped SKT-29 Bumblebee Papa Tango Delta 09. Si Wheeler commanded Horvath to locate the Bumblebee and assist its survivors. However, while Horvath made his way to the Bumblebee, Installation 07 suddenly entered slipstream space. Shortly after, an explosion on the ring fractured its surface. The ring's surface ripped open and flung Horvath off his feet, sending him tumbling across a plateau. Amidst the chaos, Horvath was separated from his fireteam, and the explosion disabled his armor systems.

Approximately two weeks later, on June 6, Horvath helped the Master Chief take down a flight of Banshees attacking Echo 216. After being informed that Cortana was gone and had set off the explosion that fractured Zeta Halo, Horvath told the Master Chief that he had lost his team in the explosion. After catching up with the Pelican's occupants, including a recently rescued Lucas Browning, Horvath took the Banshee to draw away eight incoming Banished aircraft. Before they parted ways, John-117 gave some of his equipment to Horvath, while Joyeuse transmitted UNSC FOB coordinates to Elfie.
