Brilliant Gift was a Covenant Spirit dropship. During the Battle of Installation 04, Brilliant Gift was captured by the Flood, and became a transport to spread its infection to the Fleet of Particular Justice orbiting over Alpha Halo.

Operational history
It is to be noted that the Flood were infected Human Combat forms armed with human weapons and NOT Covenant. They were possibly members of Captain Keyes' team when they first encountered the Flood.
The Brilliant Gifts mission before it was captured is unknown. After the Flood was released, they managed to commandeer the ship and leave Installation 04 towards the Fleet of Particular Justice. The dropship headed towards the Mjern Infinite Succor.

Despite the command crew's orders to the contrary, the dropship crash-landed into the Infinite Succors hangar and was irreparably damaged, killing some of the Covenant crewmen stationed there. However, it ultimately did not matter: the Flood killed most of the witnesses and soon spread throughout the Infinite Succor, infecting the entire crew and the creatures in the hunting ground, except for the Minister of Etiology. One of the most notable combatants in the battle was Rtas 'Vadumee, Special Operations Commander and later Fleet Master.
The dropship crashed onto the Infinite Succor's hanger and was irreparably damaged. However, it did not matter. The Flood soon spread throughout the Infinite Succor, infecting the entire crew and the creatures in the hunting ground except the Legate.

The dropship was destroyed when the Infinite Succor was forced to make a slipspace jump into Soell, the system's star.

Trivia
*The Flood aboard Brilliant Gift were infected human combat forms, armed with human weaponry. They were likely members of the former Fire Team Charlie who, along with Captain Jacob Keyes, were attacked and assimilated by the Flood.
*The name of the ship, "Brilliant Gift", is acutely ironic considering its role in the story - it brings the Flood onto Infinite Succor, which leads to the death or assimilation of virtually everyone onboard.
