The '''Apex''' is a type of structure built and operated by the [[Banished]]. They are typically used at their [[Banished outpost|outposts]] and allow for the production and deployment of aircraft.{{Ref/Game|Id=PL|HW2|Phoenix Logs|Detail=Apex}}{{Ref/Book|Id=Enc22|Enc22|Page=443}} They serve as the Banished counterpart to the [[United Nations Space Command]] [[UNSC Airpad|Airpad]] and the [[Covenant]] [[Covenant Summit|Summit]].

==Overview==
Apexes are used by the Banished for furnishing the deployment of [[talon]]s of strike fightercraft with the goal of controlling the skies and seizing the initiative to conduct their missions.{{Ref/Reuse|PL}} While they enable the production and deployment of a large array of aircraft, they also provide support functions for the base by coordinating friendly assets and tracking enemies.{{Ref/Reuse|Enc22}}

For the Banished forces operating on [[Installation 00|the Ark]] during the [[Second Ark Conflict]], most Apex personnel are mercenaries in the employ of [[Let 'Volir]], but remain wholly reliant on parts, vehicles, and munitions provided by the Banished proper.{{Ref/Reuse|PL}}
