The AV-49H is a collaboration between [[Misriah Armory]] and [[Hannibal Weapon Systems]] on initiatives to evolve their existing offerings of weapon systems and vehicles.{{Ref/Reuse|REQ}} This highly-advanced Wasp variant sports upgraded heavy armor, gauss repeaters, and experimental ion field bomb launchers{{Ref/Site|Id=CFBH|URL=https://www.halowaypoint.com/en-us/news/bounty-hunters|Site=Halo Waypoint|Page=Canon Fodder - Bounty Hunters|D=30|M=07|Y=2021}} as well as higher speed and evasiveness than the [[ONI Wasp]].

The armaments of the AV-49H appear to be based on the [[M199 heavy machine gun]]s and [[M400 missile launcher]] of the standard Wasp variants.{{Ref/Reuse|Enc22}} It is unclear whether this implies that the gauss and ion field munitions fired are [[7.62x51mm]] and 50mm, respectively, or merely aesthetically similar.
