At an unknown time during the Human-Covenant War, a marine nicknamed "Ghost" used the Prototype Powered Exoskeleton housed inside the facility to fend off Covenant forces as a last stand. After the surviving civilians and Marines evacuated the facility, Ghost initiated the Exoskeleton's nuclear fission self-destruct sequence to prevent the capture of the suit's technology. The resulting nuclear blast destroyed the facility along with all Covenant ground forces on the planet.
