UNSC Army

Template:Infobox Military Unit The UNSC Army is a branch of the UNSC Defense Forces primarily responsible for land-based military operations.
Background
Little is known about the UNSC Army, and this is probably due to the fact that the Army is a land based fighting force, and thus little of the Army is assigned to the UNSC Navy, with the exception of transport to other planets. It is also known that the UNSC Army uses different equipment such as the M6J Carbine.[1][2]
Role
It is known that the UNSC Army frequently patrols colony planets,[3] but, they have never been named in any operations in Halo canon. Template:Conjecturalization The UNSC Army may be more of a peacekeeping force than a large scale offensive force. They are most likely designated to Planets for their defense, keeping down Insurrection, and maybe even serving as emergency services. there is little knowledge of the UNSC Army that they ever participated in the Human-covenant war at all,since they have been mentioned once in the war at all.
Operations
The only supposed UNSC Army operation could be the Battle of Mare Erythraeum where Colonel James Ackerson led an unknown number of Army infantry forces against the Jiralhanae Commander Lepidus on Mars. It is also highly likely that the Army fought against Covenant Loyalist forces in the Second Battle of Earth.[4] Template:Conjecturalization End

Trivia
- The only known confirmed member of the UNSC Army is Colonel James Ackerson, an intelligence officer in the ONI who was once an infantryman. He is seen in an Army Dress Uniform.[5]
- The UNSC Army has its own variant of the M6; the M6J Carbine.[6]
- There is a joke that there are actually two UNSC Armies; the Reds and the Blues.
