UNSCMID, presumably short for "UNSC Military Identification," is a numerical identification assigned to members of the UNSC armed forces. Very similar, but apparently not equivalent, to the Service Number, the UNSCMID consists of seven, eight, or nine numbers and is unique for every serviceman.[note 1]

Notes

  1. ^ It is unclear why UNSCMIDs are used sometimes while Service Numbers are used the majority of the time, however both identifications are used in Halo: Ghosts of Onyx, confirming that they are either two separate systems or a minor error on the part of the author.
